Lewis Hamilton was given Honorary Citizenship on Monday afternoon during an official gathering where the President of the Chambers of the Deputies, Arthur Lira was also present.
Moreover, Lira was just not able to resist the urge of talking about the happenings of last year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. To add further fuel to the fire, he went on to say that Hamilton was ‘robbed’ of the Championship, and in his opinion, the Brit is an eight-time F1 Champion.
However, while switching attention back to Lewis Hamilton’s Honorary Citizenship, Congressmen Andre Figueiredo talked about Hamilton’s love for the Brazilian legend, Ayrton Senna, and how it was decided in 2017 that the Brit was deserving of the Honorary Citizenship.
In 2017, the Senna family were the first ones to recognize the 37-year-old’s love for Ayrton Senna as they presented him with his race helmet when the Brit equaled Senna’s 65 pole positions record.
