Lewis Hamilton, the former 7-time F1 world champion, has been making his trade in the sport since 2007. Over the years, he has amassed several accolades but at the current point in time, he feels his success gets overlooked.
Lewis Hamilton is one of the best drivers to have ever stepped foot into the world of the pinnacle of motor racing. He has become synonymous with the sport and is easily one of the most recognized personalities on the modern grid.
However, despite the fandom, the Brit believes he is in a lose-lose situation. He said, as reported by Silverarrows.net:
You’re being scrutinized all the time and I’m in a place in my life where there’s no way I can win. If I win a race, it’s: ‘Oh, he’s a seven-time world champion, you got 103 wins. If I don’t do well, it’s… I can only lose at this point in life. So for sure, there was a period of time when I was questioning whether I wanted to go through that.
Looking at the reaction of the 39-year-old, it is quite clear that being the former 7-time world champion, the fans, and the media, look at his success and failures in a different light. He firmly believes that he’s in a weird position in the sport.
Lewis Hamilton is desperate to win a record-breaking eighth world title
While Lewis Hamilton has given a rather dull view of his situation in F1, he still has the hunger and desire to do well in the sport. Moreover, during last year’s campaign, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Brackley-based team.
Hamilton understands that given his age, he does not have many years left in the sport. He is currently stuck on 7 world titles and in the upcoming seasons, wants to have a real good go at it.
