The Israel-Gaza conflict has caused colossal damage to human life in the past few months. The two regions have been immersed in a deadly conflict which so far has led to the loss of over 31,000 lives, 30,000 of these fatalities have happened to the people residing in the Palestine’s Gaza strip. While over one thousand Israelis have died. Now, seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has urged the two sides to have a ceasefire during Ramadan.

Lewis Hamilton shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram story, calling for a ceasefire. The 39-year-old sent his love and prayers to the people in Palestine who celebrated Ramadan. Ramadan is a holy month in Islam revolving around fasting and prayer. The Briton highlighted that it was a difficult period for the people in the Gaza strip who had to go through danger and loss during this time.

Hamilton affirmed that during this sacred month, it was crucial to keep calling for an end to this deadly conflict with an immediate ceasefire. Moreover, the seven-time world champion urged both sides to return hostages captured during the conflict. Lewis Hamilton hoped that families could finally come together without the fear and threat of violence and destruction.

Lewis Hamilton shares heartbreaking information about the Israel-Gaza conflict

The seven-time world champion shared an alarming statistic about the conflict on his Instagram story. Hamilton uploaded a post from @savethechildren which highlighted the concerning state of children in Gaza. As per the report, 1 in 3 children living in the Gaza strip under the age of 2 is acutely malnourished. Moreover, the post mentioned that if the infants did not receive treatment, then this could be fatal. It must be noted that during the war, Israel has bombed hospitals.

Further, Lewis Hamilton shared an image from a refugee camp in Rafa, Gaza. The image showcased families coming together to have Suhoor before sunrise. Suhoor is the meal which is consumed in the early morning before fasting for Ramadan. The powerful picture highlighted that even during this difficult period, people were coming together to celebrate their sacred month.

The Israel-Gaza war has devastated the Gaza Strip. Over 500,000 people in Palestine are reported to be on the brink of famine. As such, it is important that a ceasefire is established between Israel and Hamas to end this deadly battle. More public figures such as Lewis Hamilton need to step up and raise their voice against this conflict to put pressure on the international community.
