George Russell left Silverstone feeling encouraged after driving the Mercedes W14. Russell spoke about the damp conditions on the filming day. The 25-year-old said, “It’s great to get on track with the W14. It was very cold and greasy out there.” George mentioned that he and Lewis Hamilton could complete the desired running. He stated, “the car ran smoothly, and we completed all the laps we are permitted to do.”

However, Russell was cautious about the team’s prospects before Pre-season testing. The former Williams driver said, “We know pre-season testing in Bahrain will be the first real test of the car. Nevertheless, it looks great out on circuit and the feeling from within the car is so far, so good.”

Thus, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are happy with the Mercedes W14. The Silver Arrows have worked on solving the issues faced by the previous year’s car and focused on its core strengths. Although, for now, the team remains in the dark regarding its position in the pecking order. Subsequently, the team will keep a keen eye on its rivals during the Pre-season test in Bahrain.
