Lewis Hamilton is visibly delighted to be in Japan. The seven-time world champion was recently spotted shopping while wearing a mushroom hat [a nod to Mario]. The Mercedes driver revealed that he and Esteban Ocon planned for a ‘remote control car race’ in the pit lane.

Lewis spoke about it to the media, saying“So Esteban and I had planned a while ago that while we are here we would get our remote control cars together and have a bit of a race in the pit lane,” That would surely be a highlight at the Grand Prix.

Hamilton referred to the famous children’s show from the 70s – Blue Peter. Blue Peter was a delight for kids growing up during the 70s and 80s. Hamilton appeared on the famous show as a kid racing Remote Controlled cars [He was the best at it – hardly a spoiler, don’t you think?].

Hamilton recounts the incident, saying, “For me, it was very reminiscent of when I was a kid on Blue Peter and it was really cool. We all share more in common than we probably think other than the fact we are pure rare. It’s very rare we all get to do things like that. It was fun.”

The Helmet has a chrome finish and a striking LED strip across the visor. Although it seems unlikely for the Helmet to be lit up while racing, It’ll still be a stunning sight to see it lap Suzuka.
