Lewis Hamilton, seven-time F1 champion has been having an ordinary season so far. The Mercedes driver has been a victim of the porpoising issues since the start of the season, as the defending champions are still to get on top of that issue. After finishing outside the points in Imola, Lewis Hamilton will have his sight set on the inaugural Miami GP which takes place in the coming week.

There has been some hype around the Miami GP, as Lewis Hamilton admits to feeling a bit nervous for the same. Formula One has been ever-expanding into USA, as three races are scheduled to be held in the country in 2023. This year, we will witness two races in USA, with the Austin GP taking place later in the year.

Making an appearance on the GMA show, Lewis Hamilton gave his opinion on the same, and believes Miami GP going to be a huge event. “It’s nerve-wrecking, such a huge event for us. We always have the race in Austin, which has always been amazing. Now, with the Netflix series, Drive to Survive growing, we have two races this year, and one in Vegas next year,” said Lewis Hamilton, referring to the popularity of the sport in USA.

Lewis Hamilton believes that with the recent developments in the F1 schedule, and the impact of the Netflix series, racing has well and truly in USA. The Briton revealed that he was pretty shocked to find their reluctance towards following F1 in the prior years, despite a huge number of sports fans in the country.

The Netflix show, especially through the pandemic, has brought massive awareness to the sport. It’s booming,” he added.

It is safe to say that Lewis Hamilton has been outperformed by his teammate, George Russell so far in this season. The latter has managed to score points in all four races, which includes a podium finish in Australia. The clock is ticking, as far as Mercedes are concerned, and it is high time that they get on top of their issues.
