Lewis Hamilton is a Formula 1 veteran. Over the years, Hamilton has dominated F1 with several records to his name. F1 is a brutal sport, drivers need to endure immense G-forces. Thus, Lewis too keeps himself at the optimum fitness level throughout the year. The winter break is the perfect time to strive for a further boost to the Brit’s physique. Hence, the Mercedes driver went on a freezing expedition.

Lewis Hamilton recently shared a few videos on his Instagram stories. Hamilton went for a whopping 11km run in the ice-cold region of Antarctica. On this ambitious run, Lewis was greeted by the locals, namely penguins and seals. Antarctica is the natural habitat for such species and Hamilton seemed enthusiastic as he showed his followers the residents of the seventh continent. Lewis even described the snowstorm as “beautiful” in one of the videos.

However, Lewis Hamilton encountered a rather interesting landmark on his journey, an abandoned whaling facility. Hamilton enlightened his fans about this plant and mentioned how it was used, The Mercedes driver wrote, “they killed whales and stored their oils in this tanks.” The Brit was relieved to inform that this facility had been closed down years ago. He said, “Thankful it’s no longer done here!”

Lewis Hamilton has found a new love for winter. Previously, Hamilton went for a snow-filled run at over 6000ft of altitude. Now, Lewis went for a trip to the least populated continent in the world for his birthday. The F1 driver turned 38 on January 7, 2023. Various personalities wished Lewis Hamilton with him turning 38 on social media. But, Lewis has shown us that age is just a number in F1.

Hamilton is the second oldest driver on the F1 grid. Fernando Alonso is the only driver who’s elder than Lewis Hamilton. Yet, Lewis’s recent efforts in training in such challenging conditions are a testament to his incredible physique. Thus, heading into the upcoming Formula 1 season. The 7-time champion will be hungrier than ever in an attempt to redeem himself after his first F1 season without a Grand Prix win.
