7-time F1 World Champion

Mercedes is “not on the right path yet,” according to 7-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, but they’re “nearly” there and have “come a long, long way” since the start of the season. Lewis Hamilton was questioned if Mercedes is on the correct course after the achievement of the Spanish Grand Prix ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix race weekend.

“It’s not turning around yet, but we’re, we’re almost done. We’re not on the right path yet, but we’re nearly on the right path. We’re working towards it. If we were on the right path, we would be winning races, but we’ve come a long, long way,” said the Briton.

The Mercedes driver continued to acknowledge the hard work that the engineers and employees have been putting in back at the Mercedes headquarters. Earlier on in this season, Mercedes had to suffer a lot due to porpoising issues. But Mercedes is claiming that they’ve found a fix for it.

“There’s been amazing work done in the background and we understand the car a lot more and we understand more of the direction that we need to go. So yes, we are on a better track, because we were on the wrong track before. I’m just excited for the work that everyone’s doing in the background,” said Hamilton.

“And I’m excited to hopefully be back in the fight soon,” concluded the 7-time F1 World Champion. Hamilton will start from P8 today at the picturesque tracks of the Circuit de Monaco.
