Lewis Hamilton is one of the best-known Formula 1 drivers in the world but has never had an extremely prolific personal life. However, the Briton did proudly display two close companions of his to his fans with pride. These companions were Roscoe and Coco, his two pet dogs.

Hamilton revealed that Roscoe, the remaining one after Coco heartbreakingly passed away in 2021, was a rescue. The 38-year-old recalled looking through a website of over a thousand dogs before eventually coming upon the bulldog’s picture and instantly picking him.

I remember being online, looking online for rescues. There’s some page I found that had like 1,000 bulldogs and I just went through all of them and then I came across this one picture and I was like – ‘That’s him!’ And that was like one of the best decisions I ever took in my life.

Hamilton is rarely seen without his dog, regardless of where he might be traveling to. Roscoe is a regular appearance at the paddock, usually dressed up fashionably and driven around in luxury cars to attend Hamilton’s race weekends.

Lewis Hamilton reveals Roscoe’s favourite activity

However, Roscoe enjoys more than just watching F1 races. Hamilton revealed that his dog enjoys being driven around on quad bikes rather than walking during the Briton’s tours through mountains on motorbikes in the summer.

In the summer I love to like go on motorbike tours. Through the mountains with my friends and we stop usually and we’ll paintball halfway through. Roscoe likes going on the quad bike. I remember putting him on at one time and then I put him down and he kept on trying to get back on. So I just take he just likes being lazy and being taken around.

Roscoe’s partner, Coco tragically succumbed to a heart attack in 2020, leaving Hamilton mourning the six-year-old dog. Roscoe’s official Instagram account is affectionately named ‘roscoelovescoco’ as a tribute to his former companion.
