Winning the world championship is a huge part of the drive. Continuing to build with the team on the impact work we're doing, and continuing to push with the team with Mission 44.

Lewis Hamilton recalls beginning years with Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton moved to Mercedes in 2013, replacing the retiring F1 legend Michael Schumacher. The move from McLaren was met with skepticism by critics, as McLaren had a far better racing record than the Silver Arrows did.

Hamilton proved the critics wrong though, as he won six world championships with the team. The Mercedes driver recalled his first moments with the team when Mercedes did not anticipate the success they would experience in the coming years.

We expected it to be rubbish to start off with, because they hadn't had a lot of success, so this there was just raw excitement.
Hamilton said, as reported by motorsport.com

Hamilton’s luck with Mercedes seems to have run dry though, as inefficient concepts have been ineffective for the team. Not having won a race in the past two seasons, Hamilton will be hoping for a better 2024 campaign.
