Lewis Hamilton records yet another victory against the neighbors of his London home. The Briton reportedly bought the London property for a whopping amount of £18 m from Christopher Bailey and his husband, Simon Woods. The mansion was built in 1860 by Samuel Johns and has six bedrooms and a 200ft garden, amongst other luxuries.
According to the BBC, the driver has been granted permission to chop down a sugarplum tree outside of his home along with trimming a magnolia. The neighbors accuse Lewis of “destroying nature,” but a tree surgeon on behalf of him says that the tree was “mostly dead and dying.”
This wasn’t the first time that a request of such kind was made by the record time champion. As per the source, the matter was at the hands of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) Council, where the locals made their argument against the chopping down of the tree.

The driver doesn’t appear to be the favorite amongst his local peers. Over the past five years, he has made news plenty of times for reasons other than F1 and this particular house has been a part of the majority of those.
Previously, along with the support of a neighbor, Lewis Hamilton won the battle in the local council for trimming a horse chestnut tree. As per the case made by two, the tree attracted pigeons, which left their droppings in their gardens.
One neighbor also reports that Lewis is yet to set a foot in this home, despite buying it five years back. Another issue of the Mercedes driver involved the demolition and replacement of an old summer house in his back garden.
With the renovations taking at high speed at this property, the driver might be preparing his home for the coming years. With newly installed security gates and developments taking place around his house, the driver finally might be seen if some neighbors are to be believed.
