Lewis Hamilton’s acknowledged as “the greatest of all time” by former Red Bull driver
Lewis Hamilton is arguably the greatest driver of all time. With seven World Driver Championships, 103 wins, 103 pole positions and 183 podiums, he statistically is the greatest. But the 2022 season hasn’t been kind to the Briton.
Lewis Hamilton managed a podium in the first race of the season where he was lucky with both the Red Bull not finishing, 10th in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, 4th in the third race where he put on a quality performance. He is 7th in the Drivers Championship with 28 points, 21 points behind his new teammate George Russell, making this season his worst start since 2009.
But the teams still shouldn’t count Lewis out of the track warned the part of 4-time constructor winning Red Bull ex-driver Mark Webber, “Lewis is at his most dangerous with his back against the wall.”
“I think people are being pretty harsh, pretty fast on Lewis” Mark Webber believes on Lewis Hamilton
Mark Webber holds Lewis’ back and says this part of the Brit is the most Dangerous one where he has nothing to lose and will hit back with a blaze once everything gets sorted back in the Mercedes garage. He also says the start isn’t as bad as people think it is, the 7-time champ has still given a good performance. “I think people are being pretty harsh, pretty fast on Lewis. In Bahrain he drove brilliantly to third place. In Saudi, there was a safety car involved there with a pit stop. Same in Melbourne.”
He continues backing Lewis “So I think there have been quite a few points he’s missed through no fault of his own and he was very quick in Melbourne in the race. But he lost a lot of time with that stop. It’s only Imola where he had a tricky quali and race. Of course, everyone’s forgetting how the other points were lost through no fault of his own. George (Russell) is driving brilliantly – very, very good for him – and it’s good to have the youngsters threatening the established drivers. That’s what it should be about – Lewis would never shy away from that. “
“But never, ever underestimate an organisation like those guys (Mercedes). Lewis is at his most dangerous with his back against the wall. He’s never short of motivation – that’s why he’s probably the greatest of all time,” as reported by the Daily Star.
