Lewis Hamilton is part of a massive project for a new F1 film. This film is being made by tech giant Apple with Hollywood icons Brad Pitt and Damson Idris as the main leads. The project had been part of the F1 weekend at a couple of races this year including the British GP. Now, it is believed that Pitt will soon be driving in an American racing series this year.

As per reports, the producers are looking to fill the gap before the 2024 F1 season commences in March. Subsequently, the as-of-yet untitled film will be shooting at the Daytona International Speedway during IMSA’s Roar Before The 24 weekend between January 19 to January 21. Moreover, the shoot would continue the following weekend during the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Brad Pitt’s film to shoot during official IMSA sessions

The highly anticipated project did not do any track running during any official F1 sessions last year. The APXGP cars were removed from the grid before the race started. However, things would be different when Brad Pitt and the crew head to Daytona. It is believed that the running would be undertaken while other cars are on track as well.

The Hollywood icon would be driving a GTD car. However, it is unclear if this car would be a one-off addition to the IMSA grid for the two weekends, or if the filmmakers have reached an agreement with an existing team for special branding and livery.

Certainly, fans would love to see Brad Pitt’s character race in the American endurance series. Lewis Hamilton has claimed that this project would attract a large audience to the sport. The IMSA races could further attract more attention from viewers in the US during the shoot. Although, it remains to be seen how the filmmakers incorporate the IMSA weekend into the storyline.
