Dutchman Max Verstappen has etched his name forever in the history books solely due to his performance in F1 in the last three seasons. Hence, many have compared the reigning world champion with the other greats in F1 history. He is often compared to Alain Prost and Aryton Senna. But according to former F1 driver Luis Pérez Sala, the 26-year-old is very similar to Michael Schumacher.
Luis Pérez Sala pointed towards how the three-time world champion was being compared to the likes of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. However, the former driver thinks differently about Max Verstappen‘s capabilities as an F1 driver. The 64-year-old highlighted that the 26-year-old was more like the F1 legend Michael Schumacher in terms of driving skills.

Apart from this, Perez Sala pointed out how Verstappen was fast, and ambitious, and minimized mistakes during races. As a result, the reigning world champion had more resemblances to the seven-time world champion in Formula 1 according to the Ex-driver. Hence, the 64-year-old was inclined to compare him to Schumacher in driving skills and style.
Some people compare him to Senna and others to Prost, but I would say that he is more like Michael Schumacher. He is fast, ambitious and hardly makes mistakes. So I am more inclined to compare him to Schumacher in that regard.Perez Sala said, as reported by as.com.
Luis Perez Sala highlighted the differences between Red Bull’s 2024 campaign from 2023
It has only been two races, but Red Bull has showcased a great drive off the start of the season. Hence, the team is on the trajectory to potentially score a perfect season in 2024. Amidst the team’s 2024 performance, Perez Sala was quizzed on the differences between the two seasons. The former driver pointed to how all the teams evolve throughout the season. Additionally, Perez Sala recalled the impeccable RB19 that dominated the entirety of the 2023 season.

They all evolve and it is obvious that they have rebuilt a large single-seater. Better not think it's because the RB19 was an impeccable car that dominated with authority from start to finish.Sala said.
However, the driver also highlighted how the rival teams were building resistance towards Red Bull dominance. As a result, many other teams on the grid could potentially close in on Milton Keynes in terms of pace and performance down the season. Perez Sala didn’t hesitate to acknowledge that he didn’t spot many differences from the 2023 season for the constructor.
Now the competition is greater and the distances have been cut. I don't see as many differences as in 2023.Sala added.
As a result, Red Bull would showcase great pace and performance for a good chunk of races in the 2024 season. As evident from the recent results, the team is untouched in terms of pace and performance. However, time will tell about how the rival teams fare against Red Bull down the season. As things are, Milton Keynes could potentially score a perfect season alongside Max Verstappen.
