Red Bull Racing is set to have an exciting 2023 season in Formula 1. The Austrian team held a grand season launch in New York City this season with multiple announcements. Red Bull has usually been conservative when it comes to the team’s racing livery in F1 over the years. As the team stuck to a similar matte design since 2016. However, things are about to change with ‘Make Your Mark.’
Red Bull Racing has announced the ‘Make Your Mark’ competition for fans. This competition is part of Red Bull’s ‘The Paddock’ membership program. Fans who have signed up for this all-access membership at Red Bull’s website will get the opportunity to design the RB19’s livery for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix. The winner of this contest will be given flown all the way to the Grand Prix along with a plus one to witness their design on track.
Although, fans will only be given the chance to design the side chassis and end plates. The rest of the car will be in the team’s usual colors for this season. However, this serves as a great way for Red Bull Racing to interact with its loyal fanbase to such an extent. The Miami Grand Prix has been chosen for “Make Your Mark” in lieu of Formula 1’s rising popularity in the United States, along with its commercial benefits.

How to take part in ‘Make Your Mark’?

Red Bull Racing has provided a detailed process for fans to apply for the ‘Make Your Mark’ contest. Firstly, users will need to sign up for Red Bull’s ‘The Paddock’ free loyalty program. Users will have to head the to ‘Make Your Mark’ section and download the template for the design. After designing the car, a user must have at least 500 paddock points to submit it. Following this, users will be able to use a 3D model to view their designs.
More importantly, every fan must provide a description of their inspiration for the design for ‘Make Your Mark’. Be it racing stripes or a specific dash of color, users must talk about what drove them to design the livery. Consequently, this would allow fans to truly express their emotions about the Red Bull livery. Users will then simply have to ‘Save and Submit’ their creation. Notably, one livery per user is permitted.
The liveries will be shortlisted to a total of 15 entries to be judged by a special panel. This panel will include Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner, and representatives of various sponsors, Oracle, Bybit and Mobil 1. Although, if there is no consensus, then the top three ‘Make Your Mark’ designs will be put to a vote on The Paddock.
Thus, Red Bull’s ‘Make Your Mark’ will allow fans to compete against one another in a bid to design an actual F1 car. Considering, Red Bull’s recent success in the sport, the winner of the contest might see their livery win the 2023 Miami GP. It will be interesting to see the innovative designs fans come up with in the next few days.
