The Red Bull F1 team has become an insurmountable force once again in the recent years of the sport, but their mighty pillars are intact from the very beginning. One of those pillars holding the team together is its Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey. The Brit has been with the team since 2006, and the former Red Bull driver, Mark Webber, has a lot of gratitude for what he has done for the team.
Adrian Newey has been one of the main driving forces behind the success that Red Bull has amassed so far in its rich history, and Mark Webber ardently feels that the Red Bull F1 team should knight him. Moreover, when it comes to his most recent contribution, one cannot forget the masterpiece he has produced for the ongoing 2023 F1 season in the form of the RB19.
Webber has a lot of respect for Newey. While showering immense praise on him, he said as reported by F1.com, “When we started to have early successes, a lot of one-twos, I think that was great for Christian too, because Christian obviously hadn’t experienced that, and Helmut hadn’t experienced that, but Adrian had. Adrian was sort of working out, ‘Well, hang on, our pit stops are still shit, let’s work on those.“

He added, “There were always other layers and it was like, ‘Holy hell, when’s this guy going to finish? It was just great to have him as the technical spine of the whole department. Of course, he has got other people around him, and he’s a tremendous listener – you don’t have the career that Adrian’s had if an individual like him doesn’t listen. I love how understated he is, I love how immensely humble he is. He should be knighted, end of. It’s not even a discussion in my book.”

Red Bull has got a lethal combination in the form of Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey
While Adrian Newey has been at the top of his game since joining the Milton-Keynes-based team, his stature at the pinnacle of motor racing has increased 10-fold in recent years. One of the key reasons behind this is how well the reigning F1 world champion, Max Verstappen, can push the cars that Newey has developed under the new F1 regulations.
Max Verstappen secured the 2022 title quite comfortably in the RB18, but when it comes to the ongoing campaign, he has taken his performance to a whole new level and has been able to push the RB19 like no other. Newey and Verstappen is a deadly combination that Christian Horner and Co. have got, and it would be in their best interest if they are able to keep hold of them for many years to come.

The 25-year-old is going nowhere until the end of the 2028 F1 season, but when it comes to Adrian Newey, there is nothing precise about how long his current deal runs with the team. Newey has been hailed by several in the F1 paddock as an absolute genius, and Mercedes has also previously tried to poach him away from Red Bull.
