Sebastian Vettel is one of the biggest names in F1 and when he was at Ferrari, he came tantalizingly close to winning the Championship a couple of times with the Italian team.

However, when Charles Leclerc burst his way into the team, things went south for the German and he struggled to keep pace with the Monegasque.

Looking at the bigger picture, Elkann thought that it was best to part ways with Sebastian Vettel and Binotto while talking about it added, “Telling Seb that we weren’t going to renew his contract was one of the hardest things in my career.”

“When you respect the person, as well as the professional, it’s always difficult.”

The Italian has revealed how difficult it was for him to share the news with Vettel and considering how much Vettel had achieved until 2020 in F1, it is totally understandable why Binotto felt that it was a difficult task.

Mattia Binotto has departed from the Ferrari team with a bang, and now with him being free of any ties with Ferrari, could he be seen sitting on the pit wall of any of the other F1 teams next year?
