Christian Horner, the Red Bull Team Principal, was left immensely pleased with Max Verstappen’s win in front of his home fans and has recently talked about the bond that he and the Dutchman share among themselves.
The 2022 Formula One season is 15 rounds down and Max Verstappen is comfortably leading the Drivers Championship with a buffer of 109 points over his nearest rival Charles Leclerc.
Max has totally blown away the competition this year and Christian Horner is extremely proud of the job that the reigning World Champion has done for the Milton-Keynes-based team.
Max was promoted to the Red Bull F1 team in 2016 and since then, Horner has spent a lot of time and energy on the 24-year-old that, after last year, has started to pay huge dividends.
The prolific Dutchman was able to deny Lewis Hamilton his record-breaking eighth world title last season and Horner feels that over the years, Max has grown immensely as an F1 driver, and with him having a World Title under his belt, he has taken his performances to a whole another level this year.
Christian Horner’s take on his relationship with Max Verstappen
Christian Horner has been with the Red Bull outfit since the early 2000s and when Max came along in 2016, he had the opportunity of developing his relationship with the young prodigy.
Horner while talking about his relationship with Verstappen has said, “Max can talk to me about anything. If something is bothering him if something is on his mind. I know he feels he can always come to me, whatever it’s about, big or small problems. That openness and honesty matters.”
“Put him in a car and you get a 110 percent commitment. But he also expects 110 percent in return. He sets the bar high, but at the same time he is easy to work with.”
Horner has made no attempts in keeping it a secret that Max demands a lot from the team but has also indicated that, he also gives his everything as well, whenever he gets behind the wheel of a Red Bull livery.
Max Verstappen’s star in F1 is rising at an insanely fast pace and Christian Horner and Co. are simply grateful that the Dutchman is doing his trade for the Red Bull team.
