Max Verstappen is on cloud nine in F1 at the moment, and amidst his ever-growing influence over the sport, he has talked about the role of Netflix’s Drive to Survive and why he does not prefer to appear on it regularly. Verstappen believes in the OTT series; things are spiced up quite a bit, which takes certain moments of the season away from the actual reality.
Moreover, Max Verstappen prefers to keep things about his personal life private and thus tries to shy away from the prospect of appearing on the series as much as possible. He feels on the Netflix show certain scenarios are created keeping in mind the interest of the fans, and this is something that doesn’t fully sit well in his conscience.
While shedding light on the same ahead of the famous Italian Grand Prix, he told Bloomberg TV, “Certain things are a bit more private, and privacy for me is very important. I like things to be portrayed how they actually are and not with a lot of spice to it. I have an interview and explain my side of the story. I know Netflix is trying to attract new fans but it’s important also to really see the reality of the sport.“
The Dutchman, with his comments, has made it clear that the Drive to Survive show takes fans away from the reality of things that happen during a Formula 1 season and portrays it in a way that does not allow the fans to see the reality of how things panned out during the season.

Max Verstappen is eyeing a stellar outing in Monza
While Max Verstappen has shown his displeasure toward certain things on the Netflix Drive to Survive series, he has his hands full with the ongoing Italian Grand Prix weekend. The all-important qualifying session of the event is today, and Verstappen would need to be on it to secure pole position.
However, keeping in view that the 25-year-old is currently on a winning streak of nine consecutive races, it would not come as a huge surprise if he bashes his competition during the high-intensity qualifying session. The RB19 is the best car on the 2023 F1 grid, and Verstappen has been in pure sync with it throughout the season.
None of the other nineteen drivers have been able to pose a strong challenge against him, and considering this, he would be the favorite to win the upcoming Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix. The Monza circuit is known as the Temple of Speed, and Max Verstappen has the chance to show the full extent of RB19’s pace at the circuit.
