The F1 paddock is in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas GP is perhaps the most highly anticipated race in the recent history of the sport. The street circuit has 17 corners with a total length of 6.2km or 3.8 miles. However, Max Verstappen has claimed that the Sin City F1 track is not the greatest circuit for drivers on the calendar.

After the second practice session on Friday, Verstappen made it clear that he did not have fun on the track. The Dutch driver reckoned that the sport has better circuits than the Las Vegas GP. Although, the 26-year-old mentioned that Red Bull managed to complete its entire program for the day despite the limited on-track running.

I didn’t enjoy it, there are nicer circuits to drive. Haven’t discovered anything new. Track did improve at the end with a little more rubber. We were able to complete our entire program.

Moreover, Verstappen pointed out that the new track was slippery with drivers needing more time to adjust to the conditions in FP2. As the first practice session was canceled after less than 10 minutes of on-track action. The Dutch driver hinted that the soft compound tire would perform well during Qualifying on Saturday.

The track was quite slippery, it took a bit of extra time to rubber in due to the minimal running in FP1, but it was evolving and was a bit better towards the end of FP2. he soft was good over one lap, but it was struggling quite a lot on the long run.

Can Max Verstappen win the inaugural Las Vegas GP?

Max Verstappen is not a fan of the Las Vegas GP style. The 26-year-old had made it clear that he was not interested in the massive spectacle curated for the weekend. Nevertheless, the Dutch driver would still be aiming to take the top spot on the podium in Sin City. Although, Red Bull might face a few hurdles this weekend.

The cold temperature in Vegas could pose a challenge for Verstappen and Red Bull. Sergio Perez had pointed out that this could make things difficult in the race. The only race this season to have not been won by Red Bull was the Singapore GP when the Austrian team struggled with the conditions compared to its rivals.

However, Max Verstappen remains the dominant driver on the grid this season. The Dutch driver would push the Red Bull RB-19 to the limit. As the 26-year-old would try and secure yet another win this season. Although, it remains to be seen if the three-time world champion emerges as the winner in the penultimate round of the 2023 season.
