The Mexico Grand Prix weekend is done on its first day, where Max Verstappen was seen with his own set of personal bodyguards. While people were made aware of this ahead of the Friday sessions, Verstappen has recently made it known that he hired the bodyguards himself.
Earlier, there was a belief that the bodyguards for Verstappen were hired by Red Bull, keeping in mind the hostility he received from the fans at the United States Grand Prix. However, the Dutchman has put all the rumors to bed by admitting that he hired bodyguards for the Mexican GP himself.
I arranged the bodyguards myself. That doesn’t go through the team and happens quite often. It’s the first time in Mexico now though, but we don’t need to spend so much time on that otherwise. At the end of 2022, a few people may have been a bit angry. For the rest, it is a normal procedure and is part of certain countries.

The 26-year-old has made it known that hiring a personal set of bodyguards for the ongoing event at the famous Autodromo Hermanso Rodriguez Circuit is nothing more than a precautionary measure.
Max Verstappen is the favorite to secure the win at the Mexico GP
While Max Verstappen has cleared the air around the personal bodyguards at the Mexico GP, he is again the favorite to triumph at the event. Verstappen has been in tremendous form this year, and there is a genuine belief in the F1 paddock that he will see crossing the chequered flag ahead of all his rivals.
However, considering how yesterday’s FP1 and FP2 panned out, Verstappen could be in for a tough fight with a few other teams also in contention to secure the victory. Ferrari and the Brackley-based team could be a potent challenge for the Red Bull starlet from the upcoming sessions onward.

For the main Mexico GP, today’s qualifying could prove to be a key factor. If Max Verstappen secures pole, his probability of winning Sunday’s race will increase 10-fold, but in case he starts lower on the grid, his job of winning the Mexico GP could become a whole lot tougher.
