Max Verstappen proved to be nothing short of a force of nature during the 2023 F1 season. Verstappen scored victories for fun during the campaign on the back of the mighty RB19 and with the sport currently at a halt, he has taken the time to admit that he was emotional saying goodbye to his car at the end of the Abu Dhabi GP.

Red Bull has been the best-performing team under the current set of F1 regulations. 2022 was a dominant campaign for them, but they took everything to a whole new level this year with the production of the mighty RB19. None of the other rivals had any answers against it throughout the 2023 campaign.

Max Verstappen has a deep bond with his 2023 car and while talking about the emotions he felt during his in-lap after the Abu Dhabi GP, he said as reported by WTF;

 It’s just a lot of nice memories, and I was like, last few laps that I’m ever sitting competitively in this car, so that did hit me. Then, standing on the podium when the national anthem was played, I was remembering the season that we’ve had, so yeah… a few little emotional thoughts, I think, at the time.

Looking at the reaction of the Dutchman, it is quite clear that he is going to miss the RB19. During the 2023 F1 season, the 3-time world champion was able to amass a brilliant nineteen grand prix wins behind the wheel of the Milton-Keynes-based team’s all-conquering RB19.

Max Verstappen will expect a similar beast in 2024

While Max Verstappen has admitted that it was hard for him to say goodbye to the RB19 in Abu Dhabi, he will expect a similar or better weaponry from Red Bull for the 2024 F1 season. As per the rumor mill, several of the rival teams are hard at work in their factories to produce a solid car.

Everyone understands that Red Bull is the team to beat next year and thus, most of the outfits are currently putting in the hours to produce a title-worthy car for next year. Mercedes and the Maranello-based Ferrari Formula 1 team are one of the favorites to challenge Red Bull.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, Max Verstappen will hope that Red Bull is once again able to produce a solid car for the 2024 campaign. The Austrian outfit has all the resources at its disposal, and considering this, it will be facing to see what kind of a car they will come up with.
