Max Verstappen has been racing for Red Bull since 2016. All 45 of his Grand Prix wins have been with Red Bull. Having raced seven years for the Milton-Keynes-based team, Verstappen was recently asked whether there came a point in the journey where he thought of abandoning Red Bull.
Verstappen revealed that while he never thought of a move away from Red Bull, he did wonder how things would work at Red Bull during their difficult times. He said that the team was, and is, constantly working on improving themselves, which was a deciding factor in Verstappen retaining his contract with them.
“Not that. But I did think: will it still work here? But we always got back together in the end. Just look at the switch of engine supplier, from Renault to Honda, and the way in which they are now working on their own engine. There was always something to look forward to,” Verstappen told de Telegraaf.
Verstappen and Red Bull have a very long relationship, and it would be very difficult to visualize the Dutchman racing for some other F1 team in the future. His current contract with them runs out at the end of the 2028 season.

Max Verstappen reveals he has never doubted his abilities in Formula One

Verstappen is known to be very cocky regarding his on-track traits. This year in Belgium, the Dutchman was heard on the team radio joking with his race engineer about doing a pit stop just for practice. Verstappen recently revealed that he has somewhat always been this way since the start of his career.
Verstappen said he has never questioned his abilities for too long and has always managed to hit reset. He said that at the start of 2018, he highly questioned himself until he got his mind right after the Monaco GP. He said that these sorts of questions drove him crazy.
“I have never asked myself the question: am I as good as I think I am? I remember well when I pressed the reset button after Monaco [2018]. Then I thought: grind everything and just start over. Those stupid questions at the time about my riding style and form drove me crazy. Then you get a stupid answer back,” said Verstappen.
