Max Verstappen has been in tremendous form during the ongoing 2023 F1 season. He has set the world of motorsports alight with his incredibly dominant run this year, and while he is currently on a winning streak, he has taken the time to talk about his and Sebastian Vettel’s streak that the latter set during his Red Bull days.

Sebastian Vettel was the top dog at the pinnacle of motor racing between 2009-2013. Moreover, during one of those years, he went on a winning streak of nine consecutive races that stood stall until Max Verstappen broke that record this year. The Dutchman has surpassed the German driver’s record and claimed that the two streaks are incomparable.

While shedding light on the same during the ongoing Singapore GP weekend, he said, as reported by F1.com, “I think every single one is a bit different. But I think also at the time, he was probably in the middle of that streak. I had the streak so now. Yeah, they’re completely different cars, different times so you can’t compare.”

Naturally, I want to try and continue that streak but I know that there will be a day of course that it will stop. Normally, street circuit, in Singapore is always a bit more of a risk, a bit more chaos. But we are here to win and we’ll try to do that.” Verstappen has grudgingly made peace with the fact that his winning run will eventually come to an end at some point.

While Max Verstappen has made it clear that his and Sebastian Vettel’s dominant run is not comparable because of the different eras, the latter is retired. In contrast, Verstappen is still going strong and has his winning run intact. At the upcoming Singapore GP, he would look to add another star to his 2023 Hall of Victories.

The Dutchman is charged up for the grueling test at the humid Marina Bay Street Circuit, but if one goes by how the pundits are seeing the two Red Bulls performing at the track, Verstappen and Co. could be forced into working extremely hard to score a victory. Marina Bay has very challenging track characteristics and could spoil the Dutchman’s party at the front end.

Moreover, as per the latest stats, Max Verstappen is yet to score a Grand Prix win at the night race event. The cards are stacked against the reigning World Champion heading into the event and considering this, several eyes will be on his exploits in his RB19 during the three-day weekend.
