Max Verstappen is currently dominating Formula 1. The two-time world champion is racing at another level compared to his rivals this season. The 25-year-old has proven an all-time great in the sport’s history. Recently, Verstappen spoke about his sister Victoria‘s racing potential when the two siblings used to race karts.

The Red Bull driver claimed that his sister perhaps was on the same level as him regarding racing potential. Unfortunately, Victoria Verstappen was not as hungry as the 25-year-old to make her way into the pinnacle of motorsport. As such, Max Verstappen mentioned that she did not fight to establish a racing career. He told RaceFans, “I think my sister probably had the same amount of talent as I had when I was little, but she just didn’t want it enough.”

However, the two-time world champion revealed that his father, Jos Verstappen, was more focused on the career of his son. The former F1 driver was adamant about making Max Verstappen an F1 world champion. However, the 25-year-old believed that his father would’ve looked after Victoria’s career if she had fought for it. The Red Bull driver stated, “I was 100% sure that my dad would have gone all the way for her as well. But my dad didn’t feel it, she didn’t want it enough.”

Max Verstappen aims to improve further despite a dominant run this season

Red Bull managed to leave its rivals behind in terms of car performance this season with a lightning-fast RB-19. The Adrian Newey–designed machinery has provided the perfect platform for Max Verstappen to achieve record-breaking success this season. The Dutch driver has secured 12 race victories in 14 rounds with an incredible ten-race-win streak.

However, Max Verstappen is not satisfied. The 25-year-old wants to achieve more with Red Bull and has urged the team to continue improving the car to gain an even bigger advantage over its competitors. He said, “Because you need to improve. Because if you’re not improving, you’re standing still and you’re going backward.So I think it’s all about that.”

Thus, Max Verstappen has revealed that sister Victoria could’ve made her way into Formula 1. The Dutch driver reckoned that his sibling had what it took to make it big in the racing world. However, Victoria Verstappen did not have the same hunger as her brother to work towards a career in motorsport. As such, it was the 25-year-old who followed their father’s legacy.
