Max Verstappen, the three-time world champion, produced an incredibly dominant 2023 F1 season. He was on it from the get-go and keeping in view how well the campaign panned out overall for Red Bull, Verstappen has admitted that it will be hard to do a better season.

Last year, Max Verstappen and Co. managed 21 victories out of the available 22 and proved just too mighty, for the rest of the grid. Moreover, they also managed to amass 30 podium finishes with a staggering 860 points.

The Dutchman was recently asked about Red Bull’s 2023 campaign and while talking about it with The Times, he said,

It cannot always be like this[having a dominant season], I know that. The season we’ve had has been probably the best single-season performance in F1, in terms of stats and records. So I know that it will be very hard to try and do better than that. I think I just have to manage my expectations from now on. That’s just something that you have to keep telling yourself.

Looking at the reaction of the reigning world champion, it is quite clear that, he has urged the Red Bull fans to manage their expectations from the team for 2024 as he is also doing the same. Moreover, keeping in view how cut-throat the world of F1 is, Verstappen is on-point in his assessment.

Max Verstappen could equal Sebastian Vettel’s F1 record in 2024

While Max Verstappen has admitted that it will be difficult to do a better season than 2023, on a personal front, he will have a chance of amassing his fourth world title this year. If he manages to do so, he will equal Sebastian Vettel‘s world title record.

The German during his Red Bull era, won the F1 world championship four times with Red Bull, and that too, on a consecutive basis. With Verstappen currently on a run of three, he could also do the same by the end of the 2024 campaign.

Under the current regulations, Red Bull has emerged as the best-performing team, and as per the general belief going into the campaign, they are once again expected to dominate. The Milton-Keynes-based team is all set to launch its 2024 livery on the 15th of February.
