Red Bull clinched their second consecutive constructor’s championship at the Suzuka GP. The team dominated the season and won 16 out of the 17 races. Max Verstappen even secured his third consecutive world championship at the Qatar GP. Ahead of the COTA GP, Verstappen has hinted towards a relatively difficult Texas GP.
Red Bull has had a very successful season this time around. They won their second consecutive constructors’ championship at the Suzuka GP. The team dominated the season and won 16 out of the 17 races held. Max Verstappen, driving the dominant RB19, also won the championship title at the recent Qatar GP.
Ahead of the Texas GP, Verstappen said that the team had a lot of great memories at the COTA GP and also added that he is looking forward to racing there. He said, as reported by Planet Sports, “I’m looking forward to going to Austin this weekend. As a team, we have a lot of great memories there.” He also talked about the atmosphere and said that it is ‘like nowhere else’.
Since the COTA GP is also a sprint week, there is only a practice session scheduled ahead of the sprint qualifying. Verstappen commented on this and said, “It’s another sprint race, so it could be complicated because we only have one session to try to find the optimal balance of the car.” Also, the temperature this weekend is supposed to be higher than normal. Verstappen added, “The temperatures seem high, so I’m expecting a difficult race as well.”
Why did Red Bull also experience a difficult Singapore GP?
The Red Bull experienced a difficult Singapore GP. The race ended the winning streak [10 races in a row] of Max Verstappen, and he also got knocked out in Q2 of qualifying. But Verstappen had great pace and finished P5 despite facing a difficult start to the race.
Verstappen highlighted the issues within the gearbox of the car. He found it weird when trying to downshift or upshift the gear. Verstappen has pointed out this problem since the beginning of the season, but in the Singapore GP, the track conditions did not favor the RB, and hence, Verstappen found it difficult to finish first.
Red Bull also includes a special fan-made livery for the RB19 at the Texas GP. Verstappen commented on how he is excited to see the new fan-designed livery. He added that it would be ‘cool’ to see the new livery at the Texas GP.
