Max Verstappen feels there are “still few things to look at” despite the promise shown by 2022 regulations

Max Verstappen who is dominating the 2022 F1 season has revealed that the new regulations that have been brought are doing their job to a certain extent but believes there are still things to improve.
Formula One introduced new regulations at the start of the current season in a bid to improve the quality of racing and the 2022 cars that run on ground-effect technology were brought in order to support close-quarters racing.
While the intention with which the new regulations were brought has worked on most circuits, Max Verstappen believes that there is still work to do before F1 drivers are fully satisfied.
While talking about the situation Verstappen said, “I think following has been quite a bit better, so that’s positive.”
“But of course, the weight of the cars, they’re extremely heavy, which I think it’s not great, which I don’t really see a quick solution for.”
“But overall the following and stuff have been a bit better.” The Dutchman believes that sticking to the back of the F1 cars has become quite manageable after the introduction of new regulations but feels that the cars are still very heavy and wishes for a solution soon.
Max Verstappen feels new regulations have improved the quality of racing
Max Verstappen is currently leading the 2022 Championship with a lead of 80 points over Charles Leclerc but despite that, the 24-year-old has spent a lot of time chasing after the Ferraris as they have got the advantage in single-lap pace.
Verstappen has done well this season when it comes to following Leclerc and Co. and believes that the new regulations have played a massive role in allowing drivers to follow each other closely in dirty air.
However, the 2021 World Champion is not completely satisfied with the regulations and has said, “I mean, it’s difficult to expect really, how much better it would be but for me at least you have a better chance of racing, but then again, on some tracks is still very hard to follow.”
“But that’s also in combination with tires overheating and stuff. So there are a few things to look at.”
The current season has got 9 races left on the calendar and considering what Max has said about the regulations, it seems that the hierarchy at the F1 headquarters has got some work to do in order to make the racing experience more enjoyable for the drivers and the fans of the sport.
