Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 World Champion, has surpassed expectations during the 2023 F1 season. He has put in exceptional performances race after race. Amidst his ever-growing influence over the sport, Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey, has recently deemed him as an all-time F1 great.

Max Verstappen has been in menacing form this year and has quite comfortably romped past everything that has been put in his way. He is on course to secure his third consecutive F1 title, and ahead of the upcoming Singapore GP, he has taken the time to give his take on Adrian Newey’s kind remarks about him.

While sharing his thoughts regarding it, he said, as reported by Racingnews365, “Everyone has their own opinion about these kind of things. For me, I was never in F1 to try and prove that I belong in between other people’s names or the greats in the sport. I’m just here to try and do the best I can, and try to win as much as I can when I have the opportunity.”

Looking at the comments of the 25-year-old, it is quite clear that he does not focus too much on what people say about him. He ardently believes his only job at the pinnacle of motor racing is to give his best every time he gets out of an F1 track and try and get the better of all his competitors.

While Max Verstappen has made it known that he does not bother himself with the outside noise, he has admitted that he’s having a great time driving Red Bull’s RB19. The car has worked in a league this year, and Verstappen has had a great time putting it through the absolute wringer.

While talking about the same, he added, “It’s a very enjoyable time to be driving the car. But every single weekend, there are always other things that come up, and you have to optimize. It’s never a straightforward weekend. In a way, it’s almost like automatic pilot, but it’s also a thing as you gain a lot more experience.”

Max Verstappen is currently on a win streak of ten consecutive races and, at this week’s Singapore Grand Prix, would eye his eleventh triumph. However, the Marina Bay Street Circuit is one of those rare tracks where the prolific Dutchman has yet to score a Grand Prix win. Considering this, several eyes will be on him from Friday onwards.
