Red Bull have been subjected to various kinds of jibes from their rivals in Formula One as they continue their dominance in the sport. As they go about the 2023 season completely unrivaled, Mercedes driver George Russell had recently claimed that ten drivers on the grid would win if they were given the RB-19, to which Max Verstappen gave a stern reply before the Italian Grand Prix.

Russell, in his interview, had said that Verstappen must be missing the excitement of winning by a close margin in a race due to lack of competition. Russell claimed that currently, ten drivers on the grid could start winning races if given their dominant car.

Verstappen gave a very blunt answer to this, saying that even if that happened, none of the drivers would dominate as much as they are doing currently. He ended by dismissing this as speculation as he focused on his next race in Monza. He was quoted by Corriere Della Serra, “Mmm, yes maybe they could win. But not in the way we are winning. It’s all speculation, let them talk.”

There have been some serious claims that Red Bull have developed their car keeping in mind Max Verstappen’s strengths and weaknesses due to the massive gap in performance between him and his teammate Sergio Perez. The latest example of this was at Zandvoort, where Verstappen qualified for pole ahead of Perez by a shocking 1.313 seconds. Verstappen recently dismissed these reports as he claims to adapt to whatever car his team provides him.

Verstappen explicitly said that he does not have a particular driving style. Rather, he adapts himself to the type of car he has since each and every car changes every season. He said that he does what he can to get the best out of the car, and does not interfere with the car’s development.

“I just drive the car the fastest way possible. I’m not there to tell the guys to give me more front end because that’s how I like it. I just say: Design me the fastest car and I’ll drive around that,” said Verstappen. He also added that his driving style is not peculiar and that he adapts to the requirements, hence moving quickly.
