The defending world champion, Max Verstappen has had a struggling start to his season. Despite winning the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix the Red Bull driver sits at the 6th position in drivers world championship. The root of his problems have the reliability of his Red Bull car. Max Verstappen has been forced to retire in two out of the three Grand Prix so far. The Red Bull driver aims to turn the tides in his rival’s home race, the Imola Grand Prix.

The Imola Grand Prix is forecasted to face wet conditions throughout the weekend. The drivers have already got their first taste of the rain in Free Practice 1 session. The Red Bull car is speculated bring upgrades to their car at this race. Their recruit, Max Verstappen is highly opportunistic to make the most of these upgrades. The Imola Grand Prix features a sprint race format, which limits the testing of these new parts. Moreover, the rain hampers the running the defending world champion would have hoped to get.

Max Verstappen looking to defend his crown this season sits 46 points behind the championship leader, Charles Leclerc. Red Bull number 1 is hungry for a come back in form of good points this weekend to cover lost ground.
