Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, has been in sublime form under the current set of regulations. He annihilated his competition during the 2023 campaign and once again proved, why he is one of the best to ever do it.

Max Verstappen currently has a contract at Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season. While he is very happy with his employers, he has recently indicated that he is not completely ruling out a potential move to Ferrari somewhere down the line.

While talking along the same lines with Motorsport, he said, as reported by Soymotor:

I don't want to sound disrespectful or anything like that. I have a lot of respect for the Ferrari brand, but I'm very happy where I am at the moment. I feel comfortable in the environment I'm in, so it's not something I'm looking to change. Also, from what I have experienced so far, I know that you can never say 'never' to things . Although for me that is not in my head at the present. But I repeat: it is only Formula 1.

Looking at the reaction of the reigning world champion, it is quite clear that he is very much at ease with the Red Bull F1 team. Verstappen is pleased with how things have panned out so far, but despite this, he has indicated that he could move to Ferrari somewhere down the line if the stars align.

Max Verstappen is Red Bulls’ most prized possession

While Max Verstappen has slightly kept the door open on a potential move to the Maranello-based Ferrari team, Red Bull will make sure to do everything in its power to shut it completely. The Austrian team is fully aware of the 26-year-old’s value as an F1 driver.

Verstappen is a highly sought-after driver at the pinnacle of motor racing, he’s always in the limelight for his sensational on-track exploits. Red Bull understands this fact, and this is one of the main reasons why they offered him a long-term contract in 2022.

Max Verstappen can’t be touched until 2028, but knowing how unpredictable the world of F1 really is, nothing can be said for certain regarding the future. Who knows, maybe in some years’ time Verstappen will not be happy at Red Bull and thus, might want to burn up his existing deal.
