Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, has been in the headlines since landing at the Las Vegas GP street circuit. He has made some rather controversial comments, and he has once again done the same, claiming that the ongoing event is more of a show rather than an F1 event.
Max Verstappen has a well-known reputation in the F1 paddock for being blunt with his comments. Whenever something is not to his liking, he is quick to jump on it and make his opinion known to the world. The same has happened in the case of the ongoing Las Vegas GP weekend.
Verstappen is not pleased with many things around the event, and while interacting with the media recently, he said, as reported by The Race:
The Las Vegas GP is] 99% show and 1% sporting event. I don’t like all the things around it. I’m looking forward to trying to do the best I can but I’m not looking forward to this [the media show.

Looking at the extreme reaction of the 26-year-old, it is quite clear that he is not happy with how things have been done around the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend. Verstappen ardently believes that with the Las Vegas GP, the sport has moved a bit away from the main racing and has focused more on adding additional things around the event.
Max Verstappen will have several eyes on him during the Las Vegas GP
While Max Verstappen has been saying controversial things since landing in Las Vegas, he is going to have several eyes on him from the start of tomorrow’s practice sessions. He has been the main guy at the pinnacle of motor racing since 2022 and will have people’s interest in him during the three-day event.
Moreover, he has been able to put his RB19 through the wringer like an absolute beast, and thus, the fans are going to be eager to see him doing the same thing around the sparkling Las Vegas street circuit. Sergio Perez has been nowhere near the level of Verstappen during the ongoing campaign.
