The F1 extravaganza hit the screens again the past week after a hiatus of almost one month. All the teams/drivers were seen in high spirits during the Dutch weekend, but the event belonged to one man and one man only, and that was the reigning World Champion, Max Verstappen.
He first set the timing sheets alight over one lap pace during qualifying and did his magnificent thing again during yesterday’s main race. After the event, he was asked to put a finger on one key thing that has helped him immensely during the ongoing season, and while responding, he told Motorsport, “I think I learned a lot from the race in Baku, how to do some [different] things with the car, how to set it up.”
“Of course, I didn’t win that race in Baku, but I actually really tried a lot of stuff and different tools in the car, and that’s why in the race it was a little bit inconsistent. But at one point I got into a good rhythm with what I found. I damaged my tires a bit too much, but I was like, ‘Okay, that’s quite interesting for the next races’. And I basically implemented that and it has helped me on every track,” he added.
Max Verstappen has equaled Sebastian Vettel’s long-standing F1 record
With Max Verstappen coming out trumps in his latest F1 Grand Prix outing at the Zandvoort circuit, he has now equaled Sebastian Vettel’s long-standing F1 record. With his ninth consecutive F1 victory, Max Verstappen has matched Vettel’s record, which he made during his racing days with Red Bull.
This is a big achievement for the 25-year-old, considering the esteemed company he has now found himself in. Sebastian Vettel won four consecutive F1 World Championships with Red Bull as well, and by the looks of it, Verstappen’s next target could be this record. During the ongoing campaign, Verstappen is on course to secure his third consecutive title.
