Max Verstappen praises the RB19 after his two ‘rocketship getaways’ in the Mexican GP
Max Verstappen has applauded the rocketship RB19 as he started the race with phenomenal pace and gained quickly over the other racers on the grid.

2023 F1 world champion Max Verstappen started off with a good start at the Mexican GP. The Dutchman started gaining for P1 in turn one immediately. He passed both the front-row Ferrari racers within Turn 1 and emerged P1 from Turn One. Subsequently, after the race started from the red flag, Verstappen gained pace quickly and increased his time gap to the runner-up by 12 seconds.
This Mexican GP victory has brought the total race wins to 16 out of the 19 races held for the dominating Max Verstappen. The three-time world champion has left no stone unturned in dominating the grid this weekend, and his performance speaks volumes.
The reigning world champion claimed that the team was doing race start procedures better, and they gained a better understanding of the grip and clutch system. Verstappen praised the team and its work of tidying up the procedures.
I think it’s just doing our procedures a bit better, understanding the tyre grip – it’s clutch settings. We just have been probably a bit more sharp on that.

Moreover, the Dutchman recalled the beginning of the season and mentioned how the team experienced issues at the start, which they later resolved. Verstappen claimed that the tire temperature and clutch settings were very sensitive, and it made it difficult during the race to manage these issues.
At the beginning of the year, we had a bit of an issue, but then we fixed the issue. But then I think we still didn't do the right thing with tyre temperatures [and] clutch settings. It's all very sensitive. It's very difficult to get right and I think today especially it was very good.
Christian Horner also commented over the Mexican weekend
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner applauded Max Verstappen for his stellar driver on Sunday. The Briton commented that the guys in the Red Bull camp got everything right with the conditions, the tarmac, and the altitude. Horner claimed that the three-time world champion used the RB19 to its maximum potential and scored impressive results.
Following Sergio Perez‘s disappointing early retirement, the Red Bull team boss commented that one couldn’t blame Perez for going for such a risky overtake as he had an amazing start to the race in the RB19. Subsequently, Horner added that the team was absolutely gutted by the retirement of Perez despite his amazing form this weekend.
With three more races remaining in the season, Sergio Perez would be looking to bounce back and try to increase his gap to the third spot driver Lewis Hamilton. While Max Verstappen continues to dominate the grid in terms of race wins and has also broken [or equaled] a lot of world records this season.
