Max Verstappen puts in a dominating performance to breeze past the competition and ‘miraculously’ win the Belgian GP
Max Verstappen
We all knew that Max Verstappen would be one of the candidates to be on one of the podium steps at the end of the race but no one could have expected to him to be as dominant as he was during the course of the Belgian GP. The reigning world champion was aware of the challenge that Ferrari possessed but he reacted in the way that he was supposed to do.
On Saturday, Max Verstappen showed that he was the driver to beat as he claimed pole but had to slip down the field because of the penalty. This meant that Carlos Sainz was starting from the first row of the race along with Sergio Perez. Max Verstappen was starting from P14 with Charles Leclerc alongside him to give him company in P15. We were supposed to be in for a treat but sadly, it didn’t happen.
The 24 year old was absolutely brilliant during the Hungarian as he came back from P10 to win that particular race. When we thought it would be difficult to top that performance but Max Verstappen had different plans. The robotic dominance that Max Verstappen and Red Bull showed was scary at times for the likes of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The reigning world champion didn’t put a foot wrong during the entirety of the race as they secured a 1-2 for the team along with Sergio Perez.

The Dutchman was really happy with how the race evolved. In a post race interview, he said, “It was a really hectic first lap, to stay out of trouble, but after the safety car the car was on rails. After that, once we were in the lead, it was just about just managing everything.”
“The whole weekend was incredible. It’s been a weekend I couldn’t imagine – I’m going to enjoy today and then next week, let’s see what we can do.”
“The car was really on rails. This whole weekend has been incredible,” as reported by theguardian.
If the task wasn’t already hard for the duo for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, it has become harder after the kind of performance the reigning world champion has shown. They don’t have a lot of time to recover as we only have a week’s time for the Dutch GP.
