Red Bull Racing is currently going through a rough time. Team Principal Christian Horner is under investigation against inappropriate behavior claims. However, Horner remains the team boss at Milton Keynes till a verdict is released. The 50-year-old was present during the RB-20 shakedown and car launch as well. This has put the entire crew in a tough spot including Max Verstappen. As per reports, the Dutch driver might be having problems with his Team Principal.
The news of Horner’s investigation was leaked to Dutch media. It was rumored that this happened as tensions escalated between the Red Bull team boss and Max Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen. However, these rumors were dismissed by the Austrian team.
Nevertheless, as per reports, the three-time world champion is having a hard time with Christian Horner. Max Verstappen has always been loyal to his father. Subsequently, the 26-year-old firmly stands behind Jos Verstappen in the alleged rift within Red Bull.
So much so, that Max Verstappen’s PR manager informed that the Dutchman would not entertain any questions about Horner. However, Verstappen mentioned that things were the usual between himself and Christian Horner. Moreover, the 26-year-old was simply focusing on the upcoming season.
It's all as always. I don't know who writes such things. But between me and Christian everything is as always... I focus on my own performance. To be fit, to be prepared, to drive the car, to discuss with the engineers what needs to be discussed.Max Verstappen said as reported by Motorsport-Total
Max Verstappen committed to Red Bull amidst Christian Horner’s investigation
Christian Horner is at risk of losing his position at Red Bull. Many have advised the 50-year-old to voluntarily resign from the team. However, the Briton firmly denies all accusations and is confident of securing his future at Milton Keynes. A potential successor is reported to be in the running as well.
Max Verstappen will likely remain at Red Bull even if Horner is shown the door by Red Bull. The 26-year-old is believed to be loyal to Dr. Helmut Marko within the team and would remain unimpacted by Christian Horner’s potential exit. Moreover, it seems that the Verstappen family is not happy with the Red Bull Team Principal over the current situation.
Certainly, Christian Horner’s investigation could be a massive problem for Red Bull. It will be crucial for Milton Keynes to have a united front despite tensions between personnel such as Horner and Jos Verstappen. Subsequently, it remains to be seen if this saga could obstruct the workings of the team as the 2024 F1 season goes underway.
