Red Bull’s Max Verstappen claimed his third consecutive Formula One World Drivers Championship title on Sunday at the Qatar GP Sprint before winning the main Grand Prix event. He has been amazing in the 2023 season, winning 14 out of the 17 races so far. The Dutchman pushed the RB19 to its limit as well, which helped him conquer success.

Verstappen was poised for success from his debut. He started his first F1 race at 17 after Red Bull gave him the premier seat by skipping F2. In his first F1 season with Red Bull’s sister team, Toro-Rosso [now Alphatauri], in 2016 mid-season, as Daniil Kvyat‘s replacement was the start of a new era. Since then, he has won a whopping total of 49 races with Red Bull. So, evidently, this helped him create greater bonds with the crew at Red Bull.

Verstappen has signed a long-term contract with Red Bull that has promised them his services till 2028. While talking about his future beyond 28 with the team, the Dutchman admitted that it would be a fantastic experience to stay with them till the end of his career. In an interview with SkySports, he said, “It would be a beautiful story if I could drive here forever; that’s for sure, something that will be amazing.”

Having been on the team for almost eight years now, Verstappen claimed that he is still happy with the team and feels at home with them. He said, “I’m really happy with where I am. I feel at home; I feel really happy with the people who are very close to me here on the team.”

Max Verstappen isn’t motivated by F1 records

Max Verstappen has claimed multiple times that he doesn’t race for the idea of winning more championships or breaking sports records. He said that he enjoys the moment and tries to do the best he can. “I’m just, like I said, enjoying the moment. I try to do the best I can.”

He even said that he would keep racing until he still had the desire and commitment to the sport. And when he has the slightest doubts about racing, he will quit. He feels that if he isn’t fully committed, he isn’t ‘in it’ anymore.

When asked what he finds most important to be successful, he said ‘passion’ is incredibly important. He also said that every time he comes to the track, he wants to do his best and hence win the race.
