Max Verstappen, the reigning champion, sounds content with his current success on the racetrack. While he often spoke about retiring early, his contract with Red Bull firmly ties him to Formula 1 until 2028. However, Verstappen shared his ambitious plans for the future, painting a colorful picture of what lies ahead after his retirement.

Max currently dominates the sport but admitted that he sees no difference in winning one title and seven. He has been longing to retire as he often felt that the sport was diverting from its essence. Ahead of the Italian GP, the Dutchman sat down with the Italian Media giant Corriere to discuss his record-breaking success, rivalry with Ferrari, and plans.

Verstappen’s dreams extend beyond his own career. He has a noble mission to support young drivers who often find the path to motorsport prohibitively expensive. Max said, “I want to help young drivers grow because our sport is expensive, and many talents are left behind.” He acknowledges the financial toll it takes to foray into the world of F1.

Verstappen has been very active even in the virtual world of simulator racing. He participated in many events and shared his passion about it in the interview as well. It is where Verstappen aims to spot budding talents. The Dutchman said, “I want to transition them from the world of simulated racing [online races] to real ones. Sim racing is a great passion of mine.”

In the past, Verstappen has contemplated joining forces with his father, Jos Verstappen, a former Formula 1 driver. Sharing the cockpit with his father in an endurance race would be a heartwarming and memorable experience. Jos has played an important part in Verstappen’s success in the sport as he nurtured him at a very tender age.

Max Verstappen stands on the cusp of breaking Sebastian Vettel‘s nine-race win streak. Winning at Monza would mark his 12th victory in 14 races this season. While his Formula 1 commitment remains strong, he envisions a diverse motorsport future. Beyond Formula 1, Verstappen’s colorful dreams include endurance racing, fostering emerging talent, and the possibility of team ownership. His journey ahead is set to be an electrifying one, fueled by an unwavering passion for racing.
