Max Verstappen was the main center of attraction during the first leg of the 2023 F1 season, but while the campaign is in its summer break, the Dutchman has again found himself in the limelight (for the wrong reasons). It is believed that he is under police investigation for going over the speed limit around the streets of Monaco.

Recently, a video surfaced in which Max Verstappen could easily be seen going over the speed limit of 90 km/h around the Nice Nord motorway. He was driving his $3 Million worth of AMR Valkyrie during that time, prompting the Monaco authorities to take the footage as evidence and investigate the related facts.

Moreover, it has also come out that if the reigning F1 World Champion is found guilty, he could get imposed with a hefty speeding fine and prosecuted for endangering the lives, as reported by MARCA. This is something that the 25-year-old could have avoided with the second leg of the 2023 F1 campaign just around the corner.

During the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix weekend, he is sure to get bombarded with difficult questions regarding his overspeeding saga, and knowing the media, he could be in for a tough three days. Having a home race with something hanging above your head could lead Verstappen to not perform at his absolute best.

While Max Verstappen, with his recent antics, has brought a lot of negative publicity toward him, he has got a major task on his hands at the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix. He is currently on an eight-consecutive wins streak, and if he secured his ninth straight victory in Zandvoort, he would equal Sebastian Vettel’s long-standing record.

However, it would not be easy for Verstappen considering the pickle he has found himself in with the overspeeding saga. If things escalate in the ongoing saga, he would be looking at a long, arduous time making rounds of the court. This is something that he would most definitely want to avoid.

Max Verstappen has decimated his competition during the ongoing campaign and is comfortably leading the Drivers World Championship. But taking into account his competitive nature and the overspeeding saga, the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix will be a fascinating watch from a neutral’s point of view.
