Dutchman Max Verstappen isn’t done with leaving his marks in motorsports apart from Formula 1. The reigning world champion emerged victorious in the iRacing Daytona 24 hours while racing for his team Redline Sim in a Mercedes AMG GT. However, some weeks back, Verstappen was denied renting the same car during his retreat in Portugal.
Max Verstappen was denied to rent the Mercedes due to an age restriction from the rental company, that disallowed any individual under 30 to rent such fast cars. However, the company made a formal apology and granted rule exceptions for the three-time world champion following the significant backlash it received across multiple social media platforms.

Regardless of this, Verstappen took on the challenge alongside his teammates Gianni Vecho and Ole Steinbraten. The trio emerged victorious in the 24-hour virtual race. However, multiple drivers lapped the Redline team’s car on multiple occasions, facing several hitches along the way. Still, the team scored the victory in the 12-car category in the virtual racing session.
Max Verstappen has plans to own a GT3 team in the future
The Dutchman shares a keen interest in GT3 and would surely try his hands on the grand tourer racing category after he departs from Formula 1. However, till then Verstappen revealed his plans to own a GT3 team in the future and how he would take the ‘no bul**it’ approach while being the boss of the team. The reigning world champion also insisted that winning was the most important thing to him apart from the performance of the team and drivers during a race.

Verstappen also has a winner’s mindset, also depicted from his performances in F1. Hence, the Dutchman’s team would surely bring about great results in the GT3 category of motorsports. The GT3 team could be ready by as early as 2025, as claimed by the 26-year-old. Seeing Verstappen racing in a different outfit and a different sport would be exciting for the true fans of the world champion.
Hence the grid prepares for the challenges in the upcoming season. Although Verstappen had the most dominant performance in the 2023 season, Milton Keynes has talked about the unlikeliness of replicating last season’s performance. However, the team will try their best to score somewhat similar results in the upcoming season of Formula 1.
