The back-to-back F1 Constructors Champions Red Bull has partnered with their driver Max Verstappen‘s own sim racing team – Team Redline. According to the merger, the two racing teams will remain autonomous from each other, but the Redlines will preside over the performance management of the team. A Red Bull sim racing facility will also be built in the Team Redline’s HQ.
Team Redline’s founder, Verstappen, is always present and sometimes even races with the team. Apart from winning races, he has been racing in other virtual racing series like Virtual Le Mans, 6H of Spa, and 500 Miles of Sebring. The Dutchman’s involvement would also result in representing the team in the upcoming Formula 1 Esports Series Pro Championship.
In the statement issued by Team Redline, its Director, Atze Kerkhof, believes this new merger will only give Team Redline more opportunities to grow and is ready to undertake any challenges coming towards them.
This is an exciting new challenge for the Team. Having already built a good relationship with Red Bull under Verstappen.com Racing – this seemed like the logical next step for us.
On the other hand, Red Bull Sim Racing Team Esports Lead Joe Soltysik believes this merger will add a lot of talent and hard work to the team.
This partnership marks an ambitious positive step on our journey to win back our Team title in F1 Esports. We are delighted to have taken and I am incredibly excited about the potential of what we can achieve together.
Red Bull eyes F1 Esports Series Pro Championship with Team Redline
Formula One’s Esports Series Pro Championship is the virtual racing series organized by F1 itself every year. These races take place over F1’s circuits in the latest F1 game, which this year is F1-23. Last year, McLaren won the Constructors over Red Bull. That is why this recent merger of Red Bull sim racing and Team Redline will be crucial for the team.
Red Bull is set to compete with McLaren again and possibly win after this merger. This merger also gave the team a huge boost. The Team has gone from strength to strength since its formation in 2018. They have won seven World Championship titles across multiple Esports racing series.
This year’s Pro Championship is set to start in the coming months. All the teams will send their top drivers to compete for the virtual Constructors and Drivers Championship. Let’s see who edges out who and becomes 2023’s Esports champion.
