McLaren’s Zak Brown has on several occasions, spoken against the relationship between Red Bull and its junior team, VCARB(AlphaTauri). Brown has never been pleased with their tie-up and with the 2024 F1 season just around the corner, he has once again brought the issue into major limelight.
Zak Brown firmly believes that it is wrong to own two teams in a single sport. He does not see this as a fair thing and thus, wants the FIA to take action around the ever-developing relationship between the Christian Horner-led Red Bull, and the Faenza-based VCARB outfit.
While talking on the same lines in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Brown said,
If you look at various other sports, you are not allowed to own two teams. To have A-B relationships to have co-ownership of two teams I think isn't a level playing field. It's not what the fans expect so that FIA really needs to do something about it.

Looking at the strong reaction of the McLaren CEO, it is quite clear that he believes it is high time for the FIA to have a serious look into the Red Bull – VCARB relationship. He ardently feels that their relationship is not healthy for F1 and thus, wises for the FIA to take strict actions.
VCARB is expected to make a huge impression in 2024
While Zak Brown has left no stone unturned in ripping into the controversial relationship between Red Bull and VCARB, the latter of the outfits is expected to make a huge step up during the upcoming 2024 F1 season. Daniel Ricciardo‘s team is working very closely with Red Bull this year.
During the recent launch of the VCARB01, the car was spotted supporting several components that were influenced by the Red Bull 2023 car, the RB19. On the back of the mighty machinery, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were able to win 21 out of the 22 races last year.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, Zak Brown’s concerns are quite valid. If the VCARB team is able to hit the ground running from the very first race in Bahrain, then there are surely going to be quite a few teams who would be very unhappy about it. The 2024 F1 season could prove to be a season where various kinds of allegations are thrown the way of the VCARB outfit.
