We’ve got in one of our drivers, arguably the most successful person who’s ever sat behind the wheel of a racing car. And in the other one, a very, very promising younger man in George Russell. We’re a very fortunate team.
James Allison told SilverArrows.Net.

Looking at the reaction of Allison, it is quite clear that he and the whole Mercedes team feel incredibly blessed to have Lewis Hamilton in their garage. Moreover, has also made it known that the German team’s future is in safe hands with its other driver, George Russell.

Lewis Hamilton is contracted to Mercedes until the end of 2025

While James Allison has left no stone unturned in appauding Lewis Hamilton as a racing driver, the latter during the recent campaign, signed a two-year contract extension with the team. As per the new deal the two parties will keep on competing in F1 together until the end of the 2025 season.

However, with Hamilton signing a two year deal, the onus is now on Mercedes to provide him with a championship worthy car in the upcoming years of the sport. Since the end of 2021, Toto Wolff and his team has struggled massively to produce a potent piece of machinery.

It has been two years under the current set of F1 regulations and considering this fact, there could arise a scenario next year where Lewis Hamilton is seen fighing against the lights of Max Verstappen. Their 2021 tussle is still very fresh in the hearts of the die hard fans of the sport.
