“Miami knows how to put on a show,” Daniel Ricciardo ‘excited’ for upcoming F1 weekend

Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo, driving in the McLaren, has had a rough start to the year, when he finished P14 in the first race, scoring no points. Other than McLaren, the Australian had an amazing career in Red Bull along with teammate Max Verstappen, where he scored many podiums and wins, including the amazing Monaco GP in 2018. Post which he moved to Renault, and now is racing for the McLaren – Mercedes team along with teammate Lando Norris.

Ricciardo had a particularly difficult 2021 season, as well, where he was being outperformed by his teammate in the McLaren. But he somehow managed to score a victory in Monza after Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton crashed each other out. In the same race, Lando Norris finished right behind him.

This year till now, the best finish by Daniel has been at his home race in Australia, where he finished 6th, scoring 8 points, behind his teammate Lando. Evidently from what we saw last year, there is nothing wrong in saying that Daniel Ricciardo absolutely loves the United States; when he got into that Texas look after styling his beard and drove the legendary NASCAR. After the rough start this year, he has said that he is hopeful for the new Miami Grand Prix in America that is set this weekend. “Miami knows how to put on a show so it’s shaping up to be an incredible weekend,” said Daniel, reflecting his passion.

Although, Daniel Ricciardo is encouraged by Lando’s podium, the car still needs development

Ricciardo has said that he has been “encouraged” after seeing Lando Norrish finish an amazing P3 in the Emilia Romagna GP, scoring a podium. Still, there are improvements that still need to be done in the car for it to perform. All the drivers look passionately towards the newest track this season, but only one can take the victory.

Lando Norris, his teammate stated, “It’s (the circuit) looking fast with some great features and with the added element of being a street track, it’s going to be a fun challenge,” as quoted by GPBlog.

As we head into the race week, Ricciardo is in 11th position with 11 points, and his teammate is 6th with 35 points. McLaren are on 4th in the constructors’, with a total of 45 points.
