Michael Schumacher is a Formula 1 legend. The German driver created history in the sport with Ferrari in the early 2000s. However, during this time, there was another Schumacher on the grid, Michael’s brother Ralf. The younger Schumacher failed to achieve the same success as the 7-time champion. Former F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella has called out Ralf Schumacher for unprofessional behavior.
Fisichella was teammates with the younger Schumacher in 1996 at the Jordan team. The Italian driver claimed that he was seen as inferior in the eyes of Ralf Schumacher despite being ahead of the German on track. The two drivers failed to have a meaningful relationship during their stint on the team. He said, as reported by Soyamotor.com, “I didn’t have a good relationship with Ralf Schumacher in 1997 in Jordan. He felt superior even though I beat him.”
However, Giancarlo Fisichella recalled an incident that helped calm things down in the Jordan camp. Ralf Schumacher joked with Fisichella after finishing behind the Italian driver at the Argentine GP that year. Where the two drivers secured a double podium result for Jordan, he stated, “In Argentina I was second and he was third. He touched me, and after the Grand Prix he made a joke of me: ‘Well, I offer you a pizza’. From there everything went uphill with him.”

Giancarlo Fisichella recalls his relationship with Michael Schumacher
The former Ferrari driver believed that Michael Schumacher was a completely different individual than his brother. The 7-time world champion shared a love for football with Fisichella. With the two spend a lot of time outside of the F1 paddock, be it in football fields, dinners, or even karaoke. The Italian was sad to see the current medical condition of the German driver.
Moreover, Fisichella claimed that Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso were in a league of their own, as the Italians had to be teammates with both drivers. The former Ferrari driver even claimed that Alonso was in a second ‘youth’ as the 42-year-old continues to go head-to-head with the new generation in Formula 1.
Giancarlo Fischella has lashed out at Ralf Schumacher’s behavior. The Italian driver was not happy with the arrogance of the German driver, who felt superior to his teammate. However, Ralf’s brother was a different being entirely, and Fischella got to make some fond memories with the 7-time world champion—certainly, a highlight of their friendship.
