Sergio Perez has been extremely busy during the Abu Dhabi weekend answering media bullets regarding the Sao Paulo GP saga, and how it brought the incident of Monaco to light once again.
Sergio Perez spun in Monaco during qualifying that ensured he was going to be on pole. While he was pleased, many of the other drivers including Max Verstappen were not happy as they didn’t get the chance to put their final run on the timing sheets.
With the current campaign in its final stages, the incident was long forgotten but has, once again come to light because of what the Red Bull duo said on their respective team radios in Sao Paulo.
Since then, a lot has been made about the comments of Perez and Verstappen, but ahead of the upcoming Abu Dhabi GP, the prolific 33-year-old has shied away from adding any more fuel to the fire.

Sergio Perez during the ongoing weekend was asked multiple times by various media personnel to comment on the Monaco controversy, but he has so far, done his best by not saying anything significant in the public.
Sergio Perez wants to keep the Monaco GP saga away from the spotlight

While the 33-year-old has kept tight-lip over the ongoing saga, Red Bull has recently released a statement to indicate that everything is good within the Austrian team’s camp.
The move by Red Bull is understandable as Sergio Perez is heading into the upcoming Abu Dhabi GP level on points with Charles Leclerc for P2 in the Drivers Championship, and the team wants to keep him focused solely on the target.
However, because of the incessant questions, Perez gave a slight reference to Monaco and added, “I don’t want to raise any extra speculation. Sometimes you make a mistake in Monaco. You already saw that I almost flew off at Turn 1.“

“I was trying to set a faster time on that Saturday. I don’t want to comment further on it or on Sao Paulo.”
Sergio Perez is determined to finish the 2022 F1 season in the second position, but considering how well Charles Leclerc has looked all season, barring his DNFs, who do you think will walk away from Abu Dhabi with the bragging rights?
