Oscar Piastri is competing in his rookie F1 season this year and has already amassed a lot of praise for his exploits behind McLaren’s MCL60. The Australian has done well so far in the 2023 season and has matched his experience teammate Lando Norris. Now former racer and Dutch Motorsports analyst Allard Kalff has indicated he is a bigger F1 talent than Norris.
Klaff ardently believes that Oscar Piastri has got something extra in him that makes him a better Formula 1 driver than his more experienced teammate. The final few races before the start of the ongoing summer break were where Oscar Piastri grabbed a lot of attention for his exploits.
Klaff is very impressed with what he saw from Piastri during the first leg of 2023, and while talking about his F1 journey, he said, as quoted by Motorsport, “They are tough in the negotiations. They have left Alpine, because they wanted to go to McLaren. That contract [with Alpine] not arranged properly? We are leaving. I have a lot of confidence in Mark Webber.”
“He manages Piastri. Webber himself has made the wrong choice in his career, I have I am confident that he is now making the right choices.” They are the same type; they have to fight for it. He [Piastri] had to become champion every time to continue. Moreover, he further added, “Norris has a good social background, he had an easy childhood. He comes from a very wealthy family. There is nothing wrong with that, but that may mean that you are not interested in the latter tenth can go.”

Oscar Piastri has already started amassing a lot of interest from top F1 teams
While Allard Klaff has showered huge praise on Oscar Piastri, he is not the only one who has noticed his exceptional racing talent. Reputed F1 personalities like Christian Horner have already let their interest known in him, with a few others also developing a keen interest in his 2023 F1 exploits.
As things stand, Piastri is only 22 years old and has got several years to give at the pinnacle of motor racing. Moreover, it is a common belief that as the Australian gains more and more experience in racing in F1, he will probably get even better than he already is, and this is scary from the point of view of other teams.
2023 F1 season is 13 rounds down, and considering how strongly Oscar Piastri closed off the first leg, several people will have their eyes glued on his exploits from Zandvoort onward. McLaren has recently admitted that they are going to bring more and more upgrades during the second leg, and this will make watching Piastri doing his thing extremely fascinating.
