Although the news of Sebastian Vettel‘s exit from Formula 1 has come as a shock to many, there were quite some racing enthusiasts who had seen this coming. The German racer was virtually unbeatable during his Red Bull days, but he never found similar success when he signed with Ferrari following the footsteps of his own mentor, Michael Schumacher. That was followed by a move to Aston Martin where Sebastian Vettel’s prowess behind the wheels decreased even further.

Keeping all things in mind, the German is stepping away from racing for now. When asked about whether he would take up his former Toro Rosso boss Gerhard Berger’s offer to go into DTM in 2023, he said he is not looking into that right now. But he is not ruling out a possible comeback as well since he said, “Of course I can drive somewhere else at my age. I’m physically in tip-top shape.”

Sebastian addressed the question of what his next move in his racing career might be, and he said, “I can’t answer that question today. Now I am saying that this chapter is coming to an end. And I’m not saying I’m quitting Formula 1 to drive somewhere else. What I can’t say today is how I will react to it.”
