Oliver Bearman‘s debut in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix has made him the talk of the Formula One world. The Englishman, who is just eighteen years old, finished the race in seventh place after an outstanding performance. The young prodigy, who is presently a Ferrari reserved driver and a member of PREMA for F2, reveled one disappointment he had from the impressive weekend.

During the Saudi Arabian GP week, Carlos Sainz Jr. was feeling unwell, but he chose to push through and performed at FP1 and FP2. After the second free practice, Sainz Jr. felt tremendous pain and was taken to the hospital for an appendicitis surgery. Bearman took his place, from FP3. Bearman barely got any time to get used to the car, hence missed out on Q3 and it was a major disappointment for him.

I was disappointed not to be in Q3, but it was still a decent performance. At least on Saturday, in the race, I managed to prepare a lot better.

Withholding the circumstances under which he made his debut, the humble Englishman stated that after receiving the call to perform in F1, he was a bit taken aback. According to him, obviously, he would have wanted to debut under different circumstances, yet he is grateful for the opportunity.

Oliver Bearman wishes to put his F1 fame behind him and concentrate solely on F2

Oliver Bearman created a history last weekend at the Saudi Arabian GP, by becoming the youngest British driver to debut in Formula One. Bearman who currently drives for PREMA in Formula 2 is also Ferrari’s and HAAS’s reserved driver. Going into next week he has already changed his focus to F2 and doesn’t want to think too much about his impressive F1 debut.

The thing is you are only as good as your last race. So in a week’s time or two weeks’ time, all this will be forgotten. And I will be judged on my previous F2 race. That is my main focus.
Oliver Bearman said.

With last-minute Ferrari call Bearman was unable to perform in the sprint race or the main race in F2. Which ended up costing a lot to the young talent as he scored zero points over the weekend, and now finds himself at the bottom of the chart. Oliver Bearman now wishes to bounce back and top the charts in Formula 2.
